Happy Founder's Day to all Sisters of Eta! Wow! We are here at 8 years of Ministry, Sisterhood, Education, Social Action and Service! Where has the time gone? What will we do with what time to come? We think on this and talk about it often. We have learned that being mindful and self-aware are 2 great qualities to have when you achieve the goals of building Kingdom amongst women of God.
This 8th year is the year of new beginnings. We spent many days and nights re-building the sisterhood w wanted to see, feel, know, and experience.
Our Grand President, Soror Meelah Lowery, has some words she would like to share:
On June 23, 2015 I asked God for a sisterhood that would be one that would fit my needs. He knew I was looking for a space that fostered harmony amongst women who prioritized Jesus in their lives over other desires. He knew that there were particular types of women I wanted to surround myself with. While I assumed He would point me to the place I should be, He pointed me to the place I should create, instead.
Who I have come to appreciate are the women who paved the way for this Sorority to thrive. Their hearts were and are here and they are the reason why we successfully celebrate 8 years. I am grateful for them. I am thankful to God. I am blessed to see another year of our Ministry, Sisterhood, Education, Social Action, and Service move forward in Kingdom Excellence!
The opportunities are before us, Sisters! Let us take this day to realize our potential and our power. Let us tap into the vibrations of our sacred Sorority colors. Let us lift our Peacock tails high today that they may blind the viewers of our light. Let us move into a newness in Jesus on today that we may be whole and sound in our decision making. Let us put on our regalia, chant and sing with the pride of our Sorority. May these next six years only be an example of the next 8 to come. May we all take the day to enjoy our home, our family, and one another!
